OPEN EVENTS
The Poverty Bay Golf Club hosts several feature golf events at Awapuni Links which are open to both members and players from other clubs.
Our open golf tournaments always receive enthusiastic support locally and nationally – and provide the club the chance to showcase its excellent facilities to a wider audience.
Held in late September or early October, the Men’s and Women's Emerre and Hathaway Poverty Bay Opens are not only highlights of the club's calendar, but premier annual sports events in the region.
The Men’s Poverty Bay Open is not only a prestigious local event, it is historic – the 2024 edition marking the 89th running of the event.
Other notable club events include a number of trophy tournaments for both men and women in a variety of formats.
There are several annual corporate events, charity days and other feature events, culminating with the Taste One Christmas Open in December.
Details of these – and our other showpiece events – are always publicised well in advance on the club website, gisbornegolf.co.nz, and our Group Facebook page – facebook.com/AwapuniLinks.
